How To Have A Good Reading

(This was originally written from the point of view of a psychic for a client. Clients usually know what they want or expect from a reader, but very few clients know what is expected from them. It has received a positive response from both psychics and those who consult with them.)
Psychics, like people in any other profession, all work differently. This is why, when you look for a psychic/clairvoyant or reader as we are often called, it's best to find one who fits your personality and needs. There are two very important factors in any reading. They are you and the reader. This is sometimes why a reader who was the "most fantastic psychic in the world" for your friend is the worst you have ever seen for yourself, or the other way around. Most readers build their clientele by word of mouth advertising. If you are satisfied, then probably your friends and acquaintances will be as well. However, this is not always the case.
When selecting or deciding on a psychic to consult, go with your feelings and instincts. These, more than any other factors, will give you your most important clues and should be your guidelines for making your decision. Unfortunately, some people make this decision based on cost and the length of time the session takes. This is a mistake. Readers who charge more for their services or offer longer sessions are not necessarily better.
I listened to a psychic one day as he told people there were two types of readers. "The event reader and the attitude or emotional reader." Not once did he mention the type of reader who sees or gets both. This will affect the accuracy of the reading. Prior knowledge can sometimes change events. However, when you know why something is going to happen, you can take steps to make it happen faster, delay it, or put off events and situations you feel are uncomfortable or you do not want to face. I find it best to go into these situations with an open mind and let them unfold naturally. This usually leads to the best outcome for everyone involved.
The compatibility between the reader and client is one of the most important factors in any consultation. If the client is nervous and apprehensive, then the reader must overcome this. If the client has heard great things about the reader, then the reader may have to live up to some unreal expectations. However, a good clairvoyant will adjust for these and minimize their impact on a session.
Psychics all read differently. There may be some strong similarities between them, but no two are just alike. Even different types of readings by the same person can vary considerably. For example, some readers ask so many questions that the person ends up feeling they have "fed" all the information to the reader. Other psychics like only "yes or no" answers with very little "feedback" to guide them. Some readers dwell constantly on the past, others tend to ignore it. I am one of those who has trained themselves to ignore the past, except to get a "running start" into the reading, or when past events or situations are important to events occurring or coming up. I do this for several reasons. The two most important are it saves time and there are some people who do not need to be reminded of the past. Also, my attitude is, "you were there."
This brings up a "pet peeve" most professional psychics have. This is when a client feels they have to "test you." Any professional who has been in this business for any length of time has already been "tested" many times. A psychic's reputation for accuracy and correctness is not built overnight. Neither is it built on your past, but on what the clairvoyant is telling you about where your life is going. "Testing" only adds to the problems of a session. I can almost guarantee if you "test" the reader, you will hear something you don't want to hear and this could be very upsetting to you.
Your frame of mind is perhaps the most important influence during any reading. For example, I have seen single people who feel they are married and married people who act single. This can become confusing, so don't be upset if the clairvoyant asks what appears to be a really dumb question. It is only to help clarify how you look at things.
Frame of mind, more than any other one factor, will affect the accuracy of any reading. If you go into a session suspicious about your spouse or thinking your lover is cheating on you and wanting to get out of the relationship, then this is probably what you will hear. This could upset you, especially if you just had an argument or the memory of one flashed through your mind recently. Situations like this can occasionally influence a reading quite badly.
Frame of mind is also important in other areas. Job change, for example, can be doing the same thing somewhere else; something different where you are; a complete change; the elimination of problems where you work or even unemployment. See how confusing it can get. It will depend on how you look at it. Moves or changes in your home or environment can be just as confusing. When doing readings, most clairvoyants follow lines of influence and events. As you can see, how you look at these things can sometimes make these lines very difficult to follow.
The most important thing you can do prior to going for your consultation is to find out how the clairvoyant you are seeing likes to work, or what tools they use. If they are using something that makes you nervous or you would like something other than they normally use, the time you make the appointment is the time to mention it, not just before the reading begins. Interruptions once the reader starts will lower any accuracy and could get the psychic off on the wrong lines or directions.
One of the most common questions any clairvoyant gets is "How accurate are you?" The responses vary considerably. I recall the time I told a client, "I hope nothing I told you happens." I found later some did and some didn't. The reason for this is an individual's free will and ability to make choices, both to make things happen faster or to slow them down. Very little in life is "written in stone" and even these events can sometimes be put off for months or years.
Prior knowledge can change things. Once a warning or hint has been given, it can either be listened to or ignored. This is up to the individual. I have even been told that I was wrong about some of my predictions for someone, even as they were in the middle of the situation I described. Their frame of mind would not allow them to see it happening or even admit to what was going on. Those around them did, but not the person in the situation. The person wanted me to be wrong, while everyone else knew the forecast was accurate. It took several years for them to finally get back on track. During this period they cursed not listening to or realizing the warnings they had received.
During any reading, please keep an open mind and look at things objectively. This will not only increase the accuracy of the reading, but also help you benefit more from it. As for the delays and missed time frames, again prior knowledge can slow things down or make them happen faster. This is up to the individual. For a good reading, it is best to keep an open mind. After all, everything is possible. Only time and an open mind will truly tell whether or not the reading is accurate.
"At least I have you thinking" is a line I have used many times after a session. "And, if I have done that, you can't help but improve your life." The feedback I have received over the years has told me that with some individuals, this is sometimes the best way to go. To get folks thinking so they are able to improve their lives is something we should all strive to do, to have them deal with any negativity and accelerate the positive in their lives. This is the role of the modern day psychic.
The "emotional reader" type can do more good than the event reader in these cases. I told a person many years ago, "It is not the event that is important, but why that event is happening." Once a person realizes that, their life can get considerably better. It's up to them to take advantage of it and the only way to do this is to have an open mind, an open heart and an open outlook on life.
If you know something is going to happen, and you don't like it, change it. Don't put it off. Remember, as the psychic is picking up one thing and telling you, you are already deciding whether or not it will happen. Let the surprises come as they may and enjoy them when they do happen. This is the way to get the most out of a reading, to keep an open mind in all aspects of your life. Close your mind and you close off a large percentage of possibilities. After all, the accuracy of any reading depends on two things. They are you and the reader. This almost sounds like where we began. But this too is life and living. Enjoy it.
